Summary of Electro-medical Sector in Bangladesh

The first Electro-Medical Technology Department was started in 2005 in Bangladesh under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board. In the meantime, there is an opportunity to study electro-medical technology in ISTT and a couple of other private institutions in Bangladesh. All the batches that have passed from ISTT so far are working. At present, there is a great demand for students who have passed in Electro Medical Engineering in all medical college hospitals, district hospitals and upazila hospitals in Bangladesh. Moreover, there are opportunities to pursue higher education in BSc in EEE, BSc in Biomedical Technology. Electro-medical technology is one of the most promising technologies in the modern world for electro-medical students in various sectors including medical institutions. It is learned that medical equipment in government and private hospitals is failing due to lack of skilled manpower. They require highly skilled and experienced electro-medical engineers to maintain them.

Course Details

Diploma in Electro medical Engineering is 4 year long program and it consisting of 8 semesters (each semester is 6 month). Two exam such as in-course and final exam held per semester conducted under the supervision of Bangladesh technical Education Board (BTEB).

Job placement sector

Electro medical engineer having scope to doing smart job in the following sector:

• X-ray Service Engineer, Radiological Equipment Specialist and also all medical equipment engineering.
• Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
• : Govt. Hospital, Health Ministry, Medicine Division etc.

Electro medical department at ISTT

Institute of science trade & Technology (ISTT) established in 1998 to produce skilled manpower & remove unemployment problem. Institute of science trade & Technology (ISTT) is affiliated institute under Bangladesh Technical Education Board. This institute provided 4 years Diploma in Textile Engineering degree since 2007-08 sessions. Our students achieved outstanding results in Technical board. Our passes out students are playing important role & position in different in Bangladesh & abroad.

Academic Session

The admission procedure starts after the SSC results. There is mainly one session in a year. Students have to follow the admission announcement which is given by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) authority. Usually the admission procedure starts after May depending on the SSC result.

• Admission Eligibility
• Minimum SSC/ Equivalent Passed.
• Minimum GPA 2.0 & 40% marks on General Math
• No restriction for the age and the SSC passing year

Opportunity of Higher Education

After complete Diploma in Ceramic Engineering they are having scope to complete their B.Sc. & M.Sc. in Electro medical Engineering from in Bangladesh. Students also getting their B.Sc. , M.Sc. and Phd degree from abroad.
